Penny Toman earned a Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Central Florida in 2005 with a Certificate in Addiction Studies. In 2006 she earned a Masters of Social Work, also from the University of Central Florida with an internship and elective courses in expressive therapy. She is a Certified Case Manager and Licensed Independent Social Worker.
She began her social work career in inpatient hospital and hospice settings providing counseling, support, and case management to pediatric and adult patients and their caregivers experiencing chronic illness, end of life issues and bereavement.
She treats children, adolescent and adult individuals and is experienced in children’s group counseling. She utilizes expressive therapies including art therapy, play therapy, and writing/journaling and specializes in working with clients experiencing chronic illness, medical compliance, bereavement/grief, LGBT and women’s issues.
