Laura McCrea is a Licensed Psychologist. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Westminster College. She earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Akron. Since becoming licensed in 2008, she has worked with adults who have struggled with various issues, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, life transitions, chronic pain, mood problems, anger, relationship issues, and substance abuse. Her work at the Department of Veterans Affairs has made her particularly familiar with and sensitive to issues facing veterans and their family members. She has expertise in the treatment of trauma and is certified by the Veterans Administration in Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidenced-based treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her work with injured workers has allowed her to help them navigate the challenges of their injuries and move forward with their lives in a positive direction. She also has extensive experience in psychological assessment and disability evaluations.  She develops a treatment approach that capitalizes on the unique strengths of each individual to help them achieve more balance and wellness in life.
